EDUCATION Bachelor of Science, Ocean Engineering December, 2001
Texas A&M University, College Station (TX)
Engineer in Training Certification

EXPERIENCE Engineer
Oceaneering International, Inc. April 2007 -

Coastal Engineer
Coast & Harbor Engineering Sept 2003 - Mar 2007
Project Experience:
Surfside Dune and Beach Nourishment Project
Led and conducted the coastal engineering and alternatives analysis for this project. Responsibilities included data collection, statistical analyses of coastal processes, alternatives cross-section analysis to evaluate runup and overtopping using RBREAK, toe scour and storm protection and durability using CRESSWIN, RBREAK and SBEACH and leading the task to conduct a numerical modeling of storm waves using SWAN. Also worked as a design engineer in the Preliminary and Final Engineering design of the project and compiled documentation for permitting process.
Town of Quintana Dune Restoration and Beach Nourishment Project
Evaluated the dune and beach alternatives storm protection and durability capabilities in response to severe storm events using the 1-D cross-shore morphology model SBEACH. Acted as the resident engineer during the construction of Quintana beach. Traveled daily to the Bay City borrow source to evaluate sand quality and excavation procedures. Was responsible for field verification of placement geometry and volumes placed. Interacted with contractors, took pictures of construction and created daily project sheets that summarized the quantities loaded, unloaded, placed and percentage of project completed.[construction pictures]

Adjunct Instructor
ITT Technical Institute June 2004 - August 2004
Teaching responsibilites:
Was responsible for teaching AutoCAD Mechanical Desktop 4 hours per week. Duties included creating lesson plans, grading assignments, maintaining class order, teaching and administering exams.

Ocean Engineer
The Glosten Associates Jan 2002 - Sept 2003
Project Experience:
Environmental Loads Todd Shipyards Dry Dock
Developed the scope, budget, project timeline and maintained position as project manager. Determined wave climatology based on historical wind data and the Army Corp of Engineers ACES, developed environmental loads on dry dock using basic Corps of Engineers wave and wind load techniques in conjunction Glosten ocean engineering mathematical models and MIT’s offshore structure wave interaction program, WAMIT.
Sakhalin Island Logistics
Verified wave climatology obtained from previous studies for eastern Sakhalin Island based upon waves propagated from offshore data buoys using SWAN, predicted near shore bathymetry and determined the wave breaking zone for various offshore wave climatologies.

Ocean Engineer, Intern
Elliott Bay Design Group May 2001 - August 2001
Project Experience:
Ehime Maru Recovery
Developed a model and performed a dynamic seakeeping study for the towing and raising cases for the Ehime Maru using MORA.
COLUMBIA Refurbishment & Repowerment
Developed a structural model and performed the structural analysis of vessel modifications using ANALYSIS.

Coastal Engineer, Intern

Project Experience:
McFadden National Wildlife Refuge
Determined the erosion rate through the refuge due to the Intracoastal Waterway using Historical Arial Photography.
Corpus Christi Ship Channel
Calculated the increase in erosion rate along Corpus Christi bay due to a possible increase in ship channel depth and larger vessel draft using SBEACH.
